MLA Commons Version 2.2.0: Toolbar Improvements and Plug-In Upgrades

MLA Commons version 2.2.0, or “Epistolary,” features a number of improvements, including a simplified toolbar at the top of the page and new buttons. Now, clicking on your avatar will bring you to your portfolio, clicking My Commons will bring you to your activity area, and clicking the talk-bubble icon will take you to your notifications page.

We have also upgraded many of the plug-ins that make up the Commons software suite. WordPress has been updated to version 4.1, and Commons in a Box has been updated to version 1.0.9, which brings with it BuddyPress version 2.1.1, BuddyPress Docs 1.8.5, and many others. Among new BuddyPress features is autosuggestion for @ mentions. Now, when you want to mention someone in an update, simply type @, followed by part of that person’s name or user name, and a list of matching people will appear.
