MLA Commons version 2.3.0 launches today and includes these new features:
- Your membership information, including your name, e-mail address, and institutional affiliation, is now automatically imported from the information you entered on mla.org. We use abbreviations for some common words, so you might notice your institutional affiliation change from, say, “Yoknapatawpha University” to “Yoknapatawpha U.”
- Group membership data are now dynamically synced between the Commons and the MLA member database.
- The theme used for official sites has been redesigned. Sites like News from the MLA and From the President now have a cleaner, more mobile-friendly look and feel.
- You now have the ability to invite to your groups not only your contacts but any other members, as well. Just click Send Invites from your group page and start typing someone’s name. Thanks to Boone Gorges and the CUNY Academic Commons for this feature.
