We’re happy to announce that we are now providing Akismet protection against spam comments for all MLA Commons sites. No configuration or activation is needed—you’re automatically protected. (If you were previously using a free Akismet API key on your site, our API key will now be used instead.)

As a site administrator, when obvious spam comments are posted, you will not be notified at all. This should dramatically reduce the moderation duties required of site administrators. Please let us know if you continue to receive a large volume of spam comments.
